The client initially described the concept of a flat ticket with a tear-off RSVP. They provided some reference images of similar products they had found online (all close but not exact) and the version they had tried their own hand at designing.

I realized that without some revisions, the client would have difficulty finding envelopes or even being able to mail the piece(s) as envisioned. To preserve as much of the concept as possible while fitting into standard size envelopes and meeting the minimum USPS size requirements, my recommendation was to have an overall product that combined two different standard mail sizes. The RSVP folds along a perforated seam so the invitation to fit into an A7 envelope, and the RSVP tears off to become its own postcard in accordance with USPS guidelines.

For the design, I drew inspiration from the reference images the client provided, sampled the colors from the Save the Date provided, and did some additional research. I experimented with different variations of shape, color, and font use.
